Priscilla Kibbee

I love to travel all over the globe shopping for textiles to add to my wearable art. I have taught quilting to school children in Nepal, seminole patchwork to seamstresses in Thailand, and jackets and embellishment to quilters in Turkey where I also served as a judge at 2 of their International Quilt Shows. I have created garments for 5 Fairfield and Bernina Fashion Shows and teach classes on embellishment and wearable art. Lately I have been leaning more toward making art quilts.

March RAFA Meeting

I brought in a few saris from my latest trip to India and, of course, they had to be tried on.

And opened for inspection

Julie Brandon and Val Schultz's beautiful quilt

I just loved this one.

September RAFA Meeting in Rochester

There is always time for conversation before the business meeting.

Then comes Show and Tell. This was a present of photos for her Mother's 90th birthday.

Janet has been turning out lots of beautiful jackets for her upcoming Clothesline Sale.

And Val has been doing ice cube dyeing.

Mary's curved pieced small quilt.

Would you believe...there is a dragon in there?

That's Liz Scott behind her pretty handpainted quilt.

Varda had made a sweater from some wool leftover from another project.

Julia displayed her quilt for the upcoming show.

The orange strips in Elaine's pretty piece are beaded.

February RAFA Meeting

Today was the first RAFA meeting in a new location in East Rochester. We liked the fact that the room was large with lots of tables and so far parking does not seem to be a problem.
Mary Wieser displayed a quilt she made for a challenge.
Mary Rankin made this wonderful quilt for a grandson.

And Nancy Hicks displayed another one of her face quilts.

Marcia DeCamp had had this quilt accepted in a major show.
Sarah Terry made this piece from one of her marbled fabrics.

Thursday's RAFA Meeting

Our August RAFA meeting always has an excellent Show and Tell as many members attend Quilting by the Lake and have interesting pieces to show. Linda Bachman made this great piece from some small molas which I purchased recently in Panama.
Pat Berardi has been making small purses using cute fabric to say the least.

Caris Burtons quilt for her scientist son in progress.

And a quilt from QBL.

Caren Betlinski's piece from Marilyn Bedford's class.

Nancy Hicks almost completed this one in Rosalie Daces class.

I think this was Marcia Eygabroat's parents.

June RAFA Meeting

We had a very small short monthly meeting today as the date coincided with hanging the quilts at the GVQC Quilt Show. Many of our members belong to both groups. Pat shows off a lovely vest she just finished.

And Sarah had a gorgeous beaded piece.
Diane had a turquoise Butterfly Jacket she made in my class recently at the Bobbin Case.

And Beth has her "orange jacket" almost finished.

Holiday Party RAFA Meeting at Pat Pauly's House

Today was our annual RAFA Holiday Party meeting at Pat Pauly's beautiful house. The weather cooperated and we had a large turnout for show and tell and a wonderful dish to pass lunch. Pat Faulkner started Show and Tell off with a quilt she is making based on a photo from her husband's recent trip to Africa. Its going to be a stunner.
Then the bar was raised significantly with Julie Brandon's fabulous quilt of two frogs.
Marcia DeCamp displayed a small quilt she made after a workshop with Karen Echmeyer.
And another small quilt she just finished. This one from another workshop is supposedly her husband's favorite.
Donna Patrick displayed a finished jacket.
It has a beaded collar and the purple squares in the front are a shisha's piece from India.
Caren Betlinski found this piece recently when cleaning out her sewing room. It was from a Libby Lehman. It pays to clean.
Val Schults showed off this beauty from Cynthia Corbin's class.
Aren't these dolls just incredible!
They are sitting on a bug.

Nancy Hicks has been working on a square design using African fabrics. And Pat Pauly displayed a few of her recent works.
