I love to travel all over the globe shopping for textiles to add to my wearable art. I have taught quilting to school children in Nepal, seminole patchwork to seamstresses in Thailand, and jackets and embellishment to quilters in Turkey where I also served as a judge at 2 of their International Quilt Shows. I have created garments for 5 Fairfield and Bernina Fashion Shows and teach classes on embellishment and wearable art. Lately I have been leaning more toward making art quilts.

Quilting by the Lake, Day 5, QBL,

My piece so far with the grid overlay. Without the grid overlay. It needs to have the bottom half finished, lots more shading in the top half, then tons of stitching and possibly embellishment, to say nothing of the background.

Caren Betlinski's fabulous piece.

The work you did in that class was amazing - it really showed well on Friday night. It struck me that those pieces weren't just another art quilt project but a real family heirloom. WOW! It makes me excited to see what Elizabeth has planned for us!
