Priscilla Kibbee

I love to travel all over the globe shopping for textiles to add to my wearable art. I have taught quilting to school children in Nepal, seminole patchwork to seamstresses in Thailand, and jackets and embellishment to quilters in Turkey where I also served as a judge at 2 of their International Quilt Shows. I have created garments for 5 Fairfield and Bernina Fashion Shows and teach classes on embellishment and wearable art. Lately I have been leaning more toward making art quilts.

Tour to Iznik

After a bus ride through the heavy traffic in Istanbul and the suburbs we boarded a car ferry on our way to Iznik. It was a nice break and shortened the trip quite a bit. Beautiful flowers in a courtyard.

The ancient Roman ampitheater which is currently being excavated.
Aya Sophia which was converted to a Mosque in 1331.
Beautiful mosaic in the courtyard.

We ate lunch outside near the Iznik Lake. Wendy became sick from eating the chicken.
Beautiful ceramic from a factory nearby.
The museum.
Jewelry and crocheted bags in the museum.
Tombstone.

More jewelry.

Local women.
We found a little time to shop of course in the local ceramic stores.
