I love to travel all over the globe shopping for textiles to add to my wearable art. I have taught quilting to school children in Nepal, seminole patchwork to seamstresses in Thailand, and jackets and embellishment to quilters in Turkey where I also served as a judge at 2 of their International Quilt Shows. I have created garments for 5 Fairfield and Bernina Fashion Shows and teach classes on embellishment and wearable art. Lately I have been leaning more toward making art quilts.
The Cambodian Banana Split
After all our hard work we stopped in Swenson's for banana splits. Cambodia seems to be divided into two areas...one for the locals and one for the tourists. It is amazingly expensive considering the local economy. Budget hotels prices compare with Vietnam and Thailand...depending on the level of comfort you need. And you can find outrageously expensive hotels if that's what you are looking for. But food and services can be quite pricey. $10 to 15 sandwiches and $2 to $3 cokes could be found everywhere. And Tuk Tuks were more expensive than either Thailand or Vietnam.

The Bus from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap
It was actually a great ride between Phnom Penh and Siem Reap. The bus was very comfortable and the roads were good. This was a sign in the front of the bus.
