The Bus from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap
It was actually a great ride between Phnom Penh and Siem Reap. The bus was very comfortable and the roads were good. This was a sign in the front of the bus.

I love to travel all over the globe shopping for textiles to add to my wearable art. I have taught quilting to school children in Nepal, seminole patchwork to seamstresses in Thailand, and jackets and embellishment to quilters in Turkey where I also served as a judge at 2 of their International Quilt Shows. I have created garments for 5 Fairfield and Bernina Fashion Shows and teach classes on embellishment and wearable art. Lately I have been leaning more toward making art quilts.

We ate dinner in a delightful restaurant run by a group which is training Street Kids to have a job skill instead of just begging on the streets. There is a similar set up in Hanoi. They also have a craft shop. I had a Chicken burger which was excellent.

I really loved the murals. Unfortunately this wooden statue was in the way of this one.

We settled into our room and then ventured out to do a bit of sightseeing. Our hotel faced the National Museum (in this photo) and the National Palace. A perfect location. And it was just one block from the riveerfront with lots of interesting cafes.
