I love to travel all over the globe shopping for textiles to add to my wearable art. I have taught quilting to school children in Nepal, seminole patchwork to seamstresses in Thailand, and jackets and embellishment to quilters in Turkey where I also served as a judge at 2 of their International Quilt Shows. I have created garments for 5 Fairfield and Bernina Fashion Shows and teach classes on embellishment and wearable art. Lately I have been leaning more toward making art quilts.

The Shaman's Coat from Vietnam

When I was in Hanoi in October I was lucky enough to find a shaman's coat which I could afford (i.e. under $200) and in good condition. Its not old...old...but beautiful which is what I was looking for.
I am not sure what it is used for but I didn't care. I just thought it was beautiful and special. It is probably 20 to 40 years old and hand embroidered of course.
