Priscilla Kibbee

I love to travel all over the globe shopping for textiles to add to my wearable art. I have taught quilting to school children in Nepal, seminole patchwork to seamstresses in Thailand, and jackets and embellishment to quilters in Turkey where I also served as a judge at 2 of their International Quilt Shows. I have created garments for 5 Fairfield and Bernina Fashion Shows and teach classes on embellishment and wearable art. Lately I have been leaning more toward making art quilts.

Labor Day Weekend in Wolcott

My daughter Penny and her husband Carlos came up for the weekend and for a cookout at my granddaughters.  In return for making them their favorite lasagna they agreed to trim this monster hedge.  It kept getting off my own trimming radar mainly because not only is it a monster, I can't see it as I drive in and out of my driveway so it gets ignored.  It had recently gotten quite out of hand.
The reward.  Their favorite lasagna with leftovers to take home.

Annual Jazz and Wine Fest, Wolcott, N.Y.

The first weekend in August means its time for the annual Wine and Jazz Festival.  The police must not have been worried about interlopers due to the heat and were probably in their office beside the park.  A small firetruck and ambulance awaited any problems.
Main street was decked out as usual with tents for the wine tasting from local wineries.  Attendance might have been down due to the unusual 94 degree heat today.
Over in the park by the purple balloons vendors were selling crafts and food.
The brownie sundaes weren't enough to entice me.
There was a nice little crowd sitting under the trees listening to the Finger Lakes Jazz Orchestra.
A few vendors were doing a little business.

Wolcott Annual Strawberry Festival

After the yard sale I just had time to catch a quick glimpse of the Annual Strawberry Festival in Northrup Park in Wolcott.
 Lots of vendors and food.
A Jazz Band is preparing to play

The audience waits patiently under a shade tree.

Ahh.  Here was what I was after.
A delicious strawberry sundae in the park under a shade tree.  That's what summer's all about.

Wolcott Yard Sale

It was a beautiful June day in Wolcott and my daughter Barbara and her husband Michael took advantage of it to hold a yard sale on their lawn.  Setting up.

The customers begin to arrive.

Two adorable little girls came by to pet Charlotte, Barbara's dog.

Who later collapsed on a chaise from all the strain of the day.

My Poor Magnolia Tree

My huge magnolia tree usually is glorious around the first week in May.  This year it tried to bloom in April and got caught in a frost.

Last week it valiantly tried again but the blooms are a bit blighted to say the least.

Christmas in Wolcott, Part 2

Christmas Eve dinner was held at my daughter Barbara's house.

With a traditional baked ham.

Dominic decided to dress in his Power Rangers costume for the occasion.

Then the family headed to Williamson for the Christmas Eve service...our favorite.

Dominic did his best to behave.

The presents are beginning to pile up under the tree at my house where we had Christmas Day Dinner.

Followed by a trip to my Grandaughter Christine's house in Williamson to watch the children open their giftsCarlos couldn't resist trying on Dominic's Rudolph hat.

Still more gifts for under the tree.

Then the children were turned loose.

And what did I get? This adorable fan for one thing.

Christmas 2011 in Wolcott, Part 1

The house is cleaned (more or less) and the tree is up and trimmed. Well, ok, its a small fake tree which was pre-decorated. But its the point isn't it?

My poor cat is so exhausted from all this activity that she is sleeping with her head off the chair.

Thanksgiving in Wolcott

Some of the family relaxes on the sofa watching the Godfather after enjoying the annual turkey dinner. Dominic has his toys all over the floor of course.

Then decides to take a break from that and ride the stationary bike for awhile in the other living room.

Yikes! The Flamingo Flock has Moved!!!!!

Yikes! The Flamingo Flock has moved to the lawn of a house around the corner on one of the main streets of Wolcott. They had better not try and come roost in my yard!

Maybe I should get a Bee Bee Gun!

Well, OK.....how about a slingshot?

Jazz And Wine Festival in Beautiful Downtown Wolcott

This is the 2nd or 3rd Annual Central New York Wine & Jazz Festival held in "Historic Wolcott, N.Y."

It was held in the Park and in the main block downtown which was closed to traffic.

Of course there were two local policemen overseeing the activities to keep out interlopers and such.

Our beautiful famous fountain at the town traffic light.

The downtown street was full of Helavagood Cheese, Wine tasting booths and a few assorted dealers.

And a Jazz musician who seemed to be his whole band.

One of the wine tasting booths. They were using real glass wine glasses.

As usual, you can sit out front of the Hotel

The fancy grape logo was everywhere.

You can also sit out in front of both Pizza Parlors.

Back in the park I succumbed to homemade black raspberry ice cream.

Which i ate while listening to a really good Jazz Band.

As always there was other food available, but why bother when there is ice cream?
