Trip to India & Nepal - Varanasi - A Few More Shots

I love to travel all over the globe shopping for textiles to add to my wearable art. I have taught quilting to school children in Nepal, seminole patchwork to seamstresses in Thailand, and jackets and embellishment to quilters in Turkey where I also served as a judge at 2 of their International Quilt Shows. I have created garments for 5 Fairfield and Bernina Fashion Shows and teach classes on embellishment and wearable art. Lately I have been leaning more toward making art quilts.

Indian train stations seem quite chaotic at first glance but actually they are very well organized. One of the things I like about them is the left baggage rooms where you can store your stuff for 10 rupees (25 cents) a bag for the day while you wander around town. There is a bit of paperwork of course (its India after all) but it is usually quick and you are on your way.
