Priscilla Kibbee

I love to travel all over the globe shopping for textiles to add to my wearable art. I have taught quilting to school children in Nepal, seminole patchwork to seamstresses in Thailand, and jackets and embellishment to quilters in Turkey where I also served as a judge at 2 of their International Quilt Shows. I have created garments for 5 Fairfield and Bernina Fashion Shows and teach classes on embellishment and wearable art. Lately I have been leaning more toward making art quilts.

Bog Coat Class and Fashion Show for the Mohawk Valley Guild

Last week I was invited to do a Fashion Show then a one day Bog Coat Class for the Mohawk Valley Guild.  The class was in a local college with a large airy room and a nearby cafeteria.

After lots of fun and hard work the first bog coat was ready to have the sleeves and hem finished and a band added.
Paula Schwartz made hers from one of my quilted saris and some beautiful Guatemalan fabric.

Bog Coat Workshop at Quilter's Corner's - Ithaca

I just love the classrooms in the new Quilter's Corners Quilt Shop in Ithaca. There is space for everyone to have their own table.

And a huge table for cutting fabric.

The Bog Coat is a great pattern for large prints you don't want to cut up. By the end of the day participants are trying on their jackets.

This beauty doesn't have its front band yet.

And this self-banded one is just about finished.

As is this one with a contrasting band.

Bog Coat Class at Quilter's Corners

On Friday I taught a Bog Coat class to five women at the wonderful Quilter's Corner's Shop in Ithaca. The new stop is fabulous and the new classrooms are a huge improvement over what was available in the former shop.
The five participants worked very hard and had their jackets close to completion by the end of the class. I love this coat as it is a way to use wonderful large prints without cutting them all up and works up very quickly.

Fashion Show in Batavia and Bog Coat Class

Fashion Show:

I had the pleasure of presenting a Fashion Show at the monthly meeting of the Batavia Quilt Group today. Kathi Everett, my hostess, took over 100 photos which she has posted on her wonderful blog.

Bog Coat Class:

I had several requests for the date I would be scheduling a new jacket class. My next class is the Bog Coat, a one day class at the Bobbin Case on Monroe Ave. in Rochester on October 10th.
