I love to travel all over the globe shopping for textiles to add to my wearable art. I have taught quilting to school children in Nepal, seminole patchwork to seamstresses in Thailand, and jackets and embellishment to quilters in Turkey where I also served as a judge at 2 of their International Quilt Shows. I have created garments for 5 Fairfield and Bernina Fashion Shows and teach classes on embellishment and wearable art. Lately I have been leaning more toward making art quilts.

Trip to India & Nepal - Agra Part 1

After the usual hassles with tuk tuks and taxis we arrived at our hotel and dropped off our bags. It was a budget affair (Tourist Rest Home) where I have stayed before and had a beautiful courtyard/restaurant. One of its attractions as the rooms are ok but not special. The owner is also very good about organizing honest tuk tuk drivers for you and is very helpful.

A goat by a shop in an alley near the entrance to the Taj. To cut down pollution cars now have to park quite a ways from the entrance.

You are now also searched in a similar fashion to boarding an aircraft.
You are not allowed to enter with food or beverage and they give you a bottle of water.

Barb and Michael in front of the Taj.

No photo ever does it justice. The building just glows.

The mosque.

One of the many carvings in the doorway of the Taj.
