Priscilla Kibbee

I love to travel all over the globe shopping for textiles to add to my wearable art. I have taught quilting to school children in Nepal, seminole patchwork to seamstresses in Thailand, and jackets and embellishment to quilters in Turkey where I also served as a judge at 2 of their International Quilt Shows. I have created garments for 5 Fairfield and Bernina Fashion Shows and teach classes on embellishment and wearable art. Lately I have been leaning more toward making art quilts.

RAFA Trunk Show at Schweinfurth Art Gallery

Last Sunday I attended the RAFA (Rochester Area Fiber Artists) Trunk Show at the Schweinfurth Art Gallery in Auburn. The Art Quilts Art Quilt Show was on display in the main gallery. I was happy to see Genie Barnes wearing the Butterfly Jacket she started a few days ago at Marcia's Studio. Here she is chatting on the main gallery with Sally Dutko.

Upstairs at the Trunk Show Pat Pauly introduces the five presentors.

Nancy Hicks kicked off the program with the Face quilts she has made over the last few years.

The next speaker was Jeanne Simpson who described her foray into the quilt world.

This was her quilt and mola from the mola challenge.

Barb Seils followed

Many of her quilts began as projects started in classes with Nancy Crow.

Diane Miller described her history as a well known machine knitter.

The last speaker was Marcia Eygabroat.
Many of her quilts have a photograph in the background which she has enlarged and embroidered.
This was a portrait of her parents.
Many of her quilts have won awards in national shows.
This was Marcia and her sister.
