South of the main square in Bhaktapur is the famous Potters Square or Bolachha Tol. At the northern side of the square is a Ganesh shrine shaded by a pipal tree. Pottery is clearly what this square is all about.
The southern side of the square is lined with clay stores and potters wheels. Until winter (when they are replaced by rice) the square is usually filled with drying pots.
The raw material.Windows of local homes look out on the square.
