A typical tiny workshop.
This man was making the most beautiful intricate badges for some sort of uniform. They took at least a day to sew and sold for 50 rupees ($1.25) to the company which used them.
These people were embroidering designs on saris in small rooms with no electric lights...just whatever light came in from the street.
Beading a sari.
Cute goats in an alley outside a silk weaving factory and showroom.
One of the big looms inside the silk weaving factory.
What a gorgeous sheen.
And, of course, we had to visit a showroom and look at silk pieces. It was a large room with white cotton mattresses on the floor. Then the silk and shawls were tossed out for us to fondle and buy, of course.
And how were we supposed to resist?
I'll take one of each please.
