One of the features of a sample making class where you are exploring some possibly new materials is doing a "what if" exercise. In Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia I came upon a needlework shop where I found some very interesting sort of hollow woven metallic polyester wire. I gave everyone a length of it and initiated a small contest to see what everyone would come up with with prizes of course.
The most common result was some form of jewelry...such as this nice necklace.

But here was a nice potted palm tree!

Then there is always the wag like Mary who made an "imaginary" piece.

And Eileen made another necklace.

Wendy made a beautiful "art quilty" piece.

And Lynn said she was going to make bag handles with it.
