I love to travel all over the globe shopping for textiles to add to my wearable art. I have taught quilting to school children in Nepal, seminole patchwork to seamstresses in Thailand, and jackets and embellishment to quilters in Turkey where I also served as a judge at 2 of their International Quilt Shows. I have created garments for 5 Fairfield and Bernina Fashion Shows and teach classes on embellishment and wearable art. Lately I have been leaning more toward making art quilts.

Vietnamese Embroidery Wall Hanging- Hmong Girl
I finished this wall hanging a few months ago and finally decided it was time to hang it. I'm not totally happy with it but the point was to get it to the place where I could hang it and enjoy it instead of it being in a closet.
This is one of the most intricate and beautiful embroideries I ever found on my trips to Vietnam. Click on the photo and see the detail. All done by hand. I used to purchase these in Hanoi in the area where they were made but in recent years the quality has gone down along with a rise in prices and I haven't bought any in quite awhile. I am selling my remaining stock on Etsy.com.
