Trip to Jodhpur, India Jan-Feb.2012- The Filming Project

There a campus of a large school next door to the Guest House. Some mornings students practiced to the beat of a drum.

They did dance moves and kept rhythm with the aid of wooden sticks which looked like exercise weights.

At the Payal Center with the sewing women Christina, one of the volunteers assists a woman with a problem. One woman is working on cutting up an aqua sari I purchased at the Clock Tower.

Another woman finished a jacket made from a red sari and it will be sold at the NGO's Boutique in town.

A TV crew was there from Germany filming the group and the volunteers for a documentary featuring this group and another one from Africa.

Stuffed animals the women make for the Boutique.

One of the women from our group invited the camera crew to film her apartment near the Payal Center. As we walked toward the apartment you could see the cows in the yard in front. A miniature dairy farm of sorts and we saw a man on a motorcycle leaving there with milk cans.

Inside her apartment she offered us a variety of snacks. This was a sort of rice potato chip. The apartment had a small entrance way with a refrigerator in the corner, a tiny kitchen with a two burner propane stove, a small bedroom and bathroom.

And a tiny living room.

The dairy farm out front.

A pretty building front in the neighborhood.

These women were usually sitting out front of their houses and would greet us on our way to Payal from the main street.
