On Friday afternoon I gave a Fashion Show of some of my garments. Paula Merino obviously loved modeling this one which was from the last Fairfield Fashion Show in 2000. It is called "Lasha in My Dreams".
The audience loved looking at and trying on the garments after the show.
On Saturday I co-chaired the Project Iron Quilter Competition. 20 contestants had 3 1/2 hours to complete a quilt which was then auctioned off to help support Gilda's Club. We gave them ten choices of a theme, after which they had a mad scramble for fabric from piles on three big tables which we provided. They were also allowed to bring one piece from home.
The day was meant to be a fun time for all and some people really got into it, including Jeanne Simpson and Nancy Hicks who put out a Tip Jar in the middle of their tables.
Show visitors enjoyed wandering through as the day progressed to see how things were going.
Then all the finished quilts were displayed in front for the audience to view while the judges made their decisions.
Kathie Everett won the Grand Prize...a Bernina Sewing Machine for this beauty using the Diet theme. You can see much more information on the Quilt Show and Project Iron Quilter on Beth Brandkamp's blog:
