Trip to India & Nepal- Jodhpur, Part 7- Bishnoi Village

One morning we headed out to the Bishnoi Villages. A herd of deer in the distance. The Bishnoi are very much against harming animals in any way.
Our first stop was the memorial to the Bishnoi's who died defending the trees. One of many peacocks on the grounds.
The memorial. 363 Bishnoi gave their lives in 1730 defending the trees.

More animals on the grounds of the memorial.

A temple on the grounds which is being restored.
Bishnoi is a religion based on 29 rules of living in harmony with the environment and nature.
