I have just returned from a wonderful 10 day trip to Oaxaca, Mexico. I used to go there frequently, but hadn't traveled there in 10 years so I was interested in seeing the changes. This figure was in a restaurant doorway. To the left is the best bookstore in town.

This skeleton has been sitting on this bench in the doorway to a handicraft shop for quite a number of years.

The main Zocalo. It was full of poinsettas left over from the wonderful Christmas time celebrations which occur here. There are concerts in this bandstand a couple of nights a week.

A few years ago they "remodeled" the Zocalo, took out a couple of large trees (much to the annoyance of the residents) took out a few of the iron benches and added more flower beds with raised areas for sitting.

The band stand.

A nativity scene in the courtyard of a local shop which had been converted from a family home (note the usual fountain in the yard)

The beautiful fountain in Llano park, about half a block from my hotel

Lions guard both ends of the park.
