Binghamton, N.Y. Quilt Show

The University of Binghamton is currently home to three exhibits until December 5th. I had the pleasure to view it a few weeks ago with Beth Brandkamp.

The Evolution of Natural Fibers

Explore the wonders of cotton, linen, silk, and wool, tracing their development from seed and fur to colorful dyed fabrics and the rugs, tapestries, garments andother textile arts they are made into. Attend free movies, classes, and ongoing demonstrations on fabric, sheering, dyeing, weaving, spinning, and quilting.

Curated by Jackie Hogan, Assistant Director of the Binghamton University Art Museum

Vibrations: Color Resonance in Antique Quilts 1860–1940

This traveling exhibition of quilts from the Pilgrim/Roy Collection makes its first stop after its debut at The New England Quilt Museum.

Curated by Gerald E. Roy, Professional Quilter and Quilt Teacher, Appraiser, Author, and Historian
