I love to travel all over the globe shopping for textiles to add to my wearable art. I have taught quilting to school children in Nepal, seminole patchwork to seamstresses in Thailand, and jackets and embellishment to quilters in Turkey where I also served as a judge at 2 of their International Quilt Shows. I have created garments for 5 Fairfield and Bernina Fashion Shows and teach classes on embellishment and wearable art. Lately I have been leaning more toward making art quilts.

The Temples at Sam Mountain, Chau Doc Vietnam

Our Cyclo Driver Wol insisted that we needed to see some of the Temples at Sam Mountain and he was absolutely right. The first one was the Tay An Pagoda renowned for its hundreds of wood figures.

Lions and dragons adorn the roof.

An interesting tree trunk outside.

Many of the figures were absolutely spectacular.

Black elephants guarding the outside steps.

Next door was the Temple of Lady Xu

Some sort of childbirth related activity.

Outside the complex.

The ride back to town past water buffalos.

Time to explore the park next to our hotel with an interesting pagoda.

The night market setting up.

Grinding up sugar cane for some sort of treat.

And some interesting street food.
