Sedona Arizona, Quilting in the Desert

On our way to Quilting in the Desert in Phoenix, we stopped overnight in beautiful Sedona, Arizona. The rivers were quite high and made for wonderful photos.

There was also snow in the sheltered areas. We stopped twice to look at Indian vendors who were selling some beautiful jewelry and pots.

But the Red Rocks are the real attraction here.

Our room had a nice little balcony with a great view (despite the wires) but it was too cold to sit out there for long. We headed out for a lovely dinner and to check out the galleries.

But first we had to drive up toward the airport and view the sunset.

Then it was on to Quilting in the Desert in Phoenix. I took four days of classes with Katie Masopust. The first was Value.

After class we took time out to shop in the area Goodwill stores. Wendy tries on a purple boa.

The second day was a design class.

And the last two days we concentrated on designing abstract quilts.

A black and white exercise.
