Chau Doc Vietnam Part 2

We were off to the docks on the Bassac River as Wol had arranged a boat for us to take us over to the fish farms and to the Cham Village across the river. "Just put one step in front of the other."

I would guess that there are probably hundreds of houses just floating on the water.

And lots of "houseboats"

The main means of transportation to cross the river (at least individually or in small groups) and to reach the other side or some of the fish farms or floating houses was these sampan ladies who would row you around.

Processing cocoanuts.

A park ornament in town by a fancy hotel...the Victoria.

A fairly new Catholic Church in town. There is quite a large Catholic population in the country.

There were lots of boats full of goods which they traded with the fishing boats and houseboats in the harbor.

And more cocoanut production.

A live on fishing boat ordering groceries.

Cocoanuts again.

Smaller fishing boats.

A floating restaurant.

It looks like they also had rooms.
