The next class was Art Quilts
We busily constructed backgrounds with several types of paints, embellished them with a variety of techniques, and cut them up to construct art quilts. An interesting experience.
Caryl and her prizewinning quilt.
And of course the delightful Phillipa Naylor with her prize winner. We had lunch with her the day before the prizes were announced and she was quite excited.
My garment in the Bernina Fashion Show section on Wednesday evening. There is also a hat and muff which aren't shown. It was among the top ten in Viewer's Choice. Sharyl Commins. This looked much better from the back.
Diane Ricks. This was my very favorite outfit in the show. The shawl was a gorgeous underwater reef.
The viewers choice winner. Judith Baer.
Best of Show. Starr Hagenbring. The skirt was all loose panels. She also had a fantastic clothing line and was a vendor at the show.
Sharon Bolton
Oops. I don't know how to turn it around once its posted. This was a wonderful outfit from Debbie Bone-Harris.
Ludmila Aristova
Melody Hicks. This was made out of denim.
Etta McFarland Connie St. Clair's submission in the IQA Judged Wearable Art Category. She won Best of Show with this one at Paducah and nothing in Houston.
This beautiful coat won the Red Ribbon.
Our contestant from our table for the Not Ready for Project Runway Luncheon.
Our task was to make a wearable from the paper and other goods we were given along with a few stamps, ink, glue and other items. It was hysterical fun.
Our contestant again. And it was a good lunch besides.
The contestants line up for the final judging.
They have to dance their way across the stage and let it all hang out.
The contestant on the right is Judy Murray.
My garment on stage at the Bernina Fashion Show. Connie St. Clair at the Stitch in Time luncheon modeling her outfit.
It was machine quilted and adorned with rings from a hardware store.
She won Viewers Choice.
